A tough grind to get to the top, but an absolute stunner payoff. The trailhead isn't super well signed & is easy to miss, and there's parking for just a handful of vehicles. The upside is this seems to be a hidden gem - we hiked early afternoon on a sunny Sunday and passed just a few people. Overall the trail is clear & well maintained.

Proper hiking shoes are an absolute must. Most of the trail is very steep, and a good portion of it has very loose rocks. (I would even encourage those with weaker or smaller ankles to make sure they have high top hiking shoes for extra stability).

I am not a particularly strong hiker and I had a blast on this trail. It is a pretty relentless climb, so just be prepared for a workout, and bring some food to make the most of your time at the peak!

Great hike. Highly recommended if in the area. It is somewhat steep to gain the peak but not overly difficult - we hiked with my friend's young kids - and the top is wonderful, undulating w vistas.

If you are looking for a switchback, incline workout with no scenery along the way, this trail is for you! It's actually perfect for that and if you're staying in the area and the hike is accessible, there is a payoff of a great view at the top (when it's not foggy, but I suppose that's the way it is with most hikes. When we went the fog was pretty heavy leaving us with no view, then dissipated for a few minutes).
I would skip a special trip out here just for the hike. Unless you were specifically requesting the outdoor stairmaster.
