Beautiful park. Perfect for a stroll. Bear sightings. Perfect for walking but not for running.. narrow paths and boardwalks. Busy on a week day morning.

A great place for a walk all year round. The location is centrally located in the lower mainland and easily accessible from the highway or transit.
Take a look at a video of the walk here: https://youtu.be/un4YnsKhTG0

Great trail I feel very safe running alone in. Today the whole beach was over run by geese which is too bad as they do make a mess and don't allow a great space for kids to play.

Deer lake is by far the best trail in Burnaby. Not only are their a trail around the lake there are also trails in the park area surrounding it letting you tailor your walk for time and distance. It is well maintained and easily managed. I recently walked around Burnaby Lake and although it is a farther walk you see the lake only for about 20% of the time. At Deer Lake there are many scenic views of the lake and many places to sit and take it in. I like Deer Lake better by far. I would rather walk Deer Lake twice to go 10km rather than walking Burnaby Lake once. It is just better and more scenic in my opinion.

This is an easy walk around a beautiful lake. Awesome for running, or walking your dog, or just walking on your own. Very relaxing and refreshing. Couple different routes to take. I go with my boyfriend and dog weekly and we go around the entire lake, we always run into very friendly people and our dog just loves the walk as she gets to see other dogs, people and last but not least the ducks :). I've even taken my 6 year old sister on this walk and she didn't have a problem with it, recommende for all.
