Visited Rolley Lake for the first time today, March 17, 2024. Beautiful lake and great trail around the lake. The water was a bit underwhelming and there is a larger waterfall further down the trail that was more spectacular. Still, we really enjoyed the walk around the lake and the forested trail. Was surprised how busy the campsite was, I think it was sold out but perfect weather for weekend camping. I would visit Rolley Lake again!

this park needs some tlc first of all the many pot holes driving in have been there for months fill them in already the walking trail needs major work replace slip pads there are many loose or missing, the same tree has been down for months they cut maybe 3 feet to walk through how about moving it, In 4 months i have only seen 1 worker didn't see her working standing by a sand pile on her phone, the pile hasn't changed since who ever is responsible for the upkeep of this park needs a good wake up call surprised there aren't more complaints

I was sorry to see the trail bench in the water on the boardwalk...seems to be some neglect happening...lots of areas have water that could be eliminated but clearing the trenches...just want you to know...we love the lake and want to see it stay a great place to camp and walk tks you

Very easy and peaceful trail around the lake, and adding on the Rolley Falls Trail provides a nice, short hike. The beginning of the loop trail to the Falls is extremely muddy, so be aware. Was at the Park on Saturday, and while the beach area was super busy, the trails were not!

Gate to "Matheson Ave" is still closed as of today (Mar 24, 2108). You can park at end of Bell street, and it's a short walk down to the lake. The trail is in good shape but there aren't many signs. For the Rolley Fall trail, follow the red markers.

Beautiful hike around the lake. Took us about an hour and a half but there were a few stops along the way. Lots of trees across the trail right now from the wind storms.
Certainly going to be a regular hike for me and my dog.

Rolley Lake is a very nice stroll on an easy trail, and well worth doing. It should be noted that if you wish to do the Rolley Falls Trail, which is separate, that this is more of an intermediate to difficult trail that includes a fair bit of quick elevation on narrow switchbacks comprised of roots, rocks and dirt, and after that, some steady elevation that is less foot-challenging, but still fairly ambitious. It is unfortunate that the trails are not better connected and that they are not more adequately marked for hikers.

Great easy loop around the lake. Take around an hour. Many people walking, running, walking dogs and fishing in some areas. There's spots for picnics and a beachy area. Trail is fairly flat and is great for kids and walking dogs

We did both the Rolley Lake loop and the Rolley Falls loop. The Rolley Falls Loop will not be a short 10 min hike to the falls if you go to the right at the fork as the page says (once you are on the Rolley Falls Loop). You end up taking a very strenuous 1+km hike straight down the mountain and then straight back up before you get to the falls. Instead, if you take the left fork you get the easier 10 min hike to the Upper Falls from the campground. The falls themselves are beautiful. I'd definitely do the shorter walk to the falls if you are just looking for an easy enjoyable walk.

Very easy hike with a wide trail but definitely not 2 hours. My boyfriend and I are pretty average hikers and walked at a fairly slow pace and finished the loop including the falls in just over an hour. Very enjoyable though, the lake is mostly in view for most of the walk and the falls were pretty neat as well!

We had been around the lake on a previous walk-about, but today was the first time hiking the falls loop. Very nice, short trail with enough challenge to keep it interesting, but not too tough. Gets the blood pumping though. Not one you want to take Grandma down. Very different from the well groomed flat walk around the lake.
We found a beautiful little spot on the creek at the bottom of the trail where it crosses the road bridge. We stopped and took a few nice pictures there.
There are 3 pretty good view points of the falls along the trail back up and overall I would have to say this is worth the journey and we will no doubt do it again.

We went to Rolley Lake yesterday and first walked around and then down to the waterfall. It was a little wet because it was raining, but the forest is so enjoyable! The hike around the lake is really easy with lots of beautiful trees, the hike down and up to the falls was nice to get the heart going.

The description of "easy" and "minimal elevation" describes the walk around the lake, then walking to-and-back-from the waterfall. If you do the northeast loop to the FSR shown on the picture, it's a real hike with elevation. Not severe, and perhaps "easy" is still correct, but the elevation is certainly not "minimal".
Take another look at the map and notice the elevation lines.
