Absolutely spectacular birdwatching. Due to the diverse array of habitats, there's almost nothing you can't find here. Beautiful display ponds, vast fields, and of course, plenty of birds. The trails are well-maintained, easy to follow, and have a few viewing spots and benches along the way.
Consider bringing binoculars, as they will help you identify birds towards the shoreline. You can still enjoy the waterfowl without them, however.
I believe the trails are currently closed at the sanctuary until February 5th due to COVID restrictions. Can't wait to go back.

Recently visited with my grandaughter ( 8 years old) .we were both so pleased to see so many birds and the paths were well marked. The bird museum also very interesting. We are planning another visit soon to feed more birds.

beautiful walk on outer trails today, Tues March 17, 2015.Found most of the wonderful birds of the season, Then treated to possibly a nest of young Mink. very well hidden and the sound is what drew me to look closer. Then - on our drive out, on a long roadway clearance area, to the west saw a large reddish bird, thought turkey, grouse ???? and soon again as we neared exit gate, spotted another similar bright red/orange Grouse shaped (?)still on property , When I stopped with camera, it immediately shrunk into the grasses and foliage. Help- what was it we may of seen..???.
