Nice hike. Cool to see the canyon and train tracks defying gravity over the river
The hike was really nice minus a lot of campers along the river at the start - which was unexpected.

Gorgeous trail! You walk uphill, across active railroad tracks, then past Starvation Lake, which is beautiful for a swim if you are there during summer months. Quiet trail, so "shhhhh" don't tell anyone about this one to keep it that way. The rating as "easy" is incorrect. This is more of an intermediate trail due to inclines, loose rocks, steep cliffs and heights, so wear proper footwear and expect to get a sweat on. Not for beginners or those who need flat trails or require accessibility.

Great trail overall. I’m a beginner hiker in my mid 30’s, slightly overweight. I found it difficult even though it says “easy”. It was exhausting but great! Wear hiking boots to help give your ankles support. There’s some areas on the trail, intermittently, where the trail has loose rock that you need to walk over and can surely twist or break an ankle if you’re not careful or if you’re overly tired.
The views are amazing. My other friends who are more athletic, weren’t as tired as myself. I used to be quite athletic and this would have been less exhausting if I had been in a better shape.
Take some extra time to enjoy the lake for a refreshing swim. Lake is about a 30 min walk from the parking area.
