What should I expect from an “Easy” trail?
Easy trails are generally well-signed, short (often under 5–7 km), with gentle grades and good tread. They’re appropriate for families, beginners, and people looking for an easier hike but some easy trails can be slightly more difficult with uphill sections and wooden stairs. Examples in the region include many low-elevation parks like Lighthouse Park, Pacific Spirit, and Rice Lake. Quarry Rock is also rated as an easy trail but has a slightly more difficult terrain than some of the local city parks.
