White tailed ptarmigan.
I was surprised to get this photo as the weather raised a challenge. The thick fog made getting the photo tough, though having the fog also enabled me to get closer without disturbing this young bird.
The White Tailed Ptarmigan thrives in higher elevations snacking on vegetation and the occasional bug. Allegedly the white tailed ptarmigan hasn't been seen on Mt Cheam since 2019 though we were lucky to spot a clutch of four (:
