Description:
This is my elder brother Stephen taken 9.13.21 at Garibaldi Lake . I was told by my mother and family to take him outside to keep his mental clarity thriving. He does not smile and rarely he does. His life has been very sheltered. He is 5 years older than I and has been living with mental illness since I got a clue what that’s all about during my teens. Anyways, I like to share this picture and the story behind because it’s very monumental endearing to me. We got to the aqua coloured Lake very close to the beginning of the sunset after we saw the view from the top at Panorama Ridge mid afternoon. We went there two weeks ago prior August 31st and met with snow flurries and no visibility trapped inside foggy clouds atop. So that was very interesting and my brother listens well and very loyal and uncomplaining and non demanding when I took him again for another 25 to 30km hike. So when we got to the lake up closer, he insisted that I take a picture of him with his “finger sock puppet” that he had carried with him all along all throughout this trek. I took it and saw him SMILING. So rare and precious Kodak moment of an epic capture. I will remember this because the road is long with many a winding turn that leads us to who knows where … coz … He ain’t Heavy He’s my Brother.
