Rohr Lake
Location: On Hwy 99, drive east of Pemberton, passing through the small town of Mt Curry. Turn right, staying on Hwy 99, passing the northern shores of Lillouet Lake. Drive up the steep hill of the Duffy Lake Road, past the Joffre Lakes signs. A little further on you will go over the summit of Cayoosh pass, and then head down to a bridge crossing Cayoosh Creek. Very shortly afterwards you will see a dirt road on your left, heading north along the eastern banks of Cayoosh Creek. Turn left here. (If you miss this track, you will soon pass a BC roads work shed on the right) You can either park at the first available spot on the dirt road, or if you have good vehicle clearence, and are not worried overly about your paint work, you can head further up the road where there are numerous places to park a few cars. Description:
My very first camping in 35 years blew my mind! I am not in a good fit, but the amazing feeling of being in the woods and the spectacular views at Mount Rohr trail kept me going all the way up to the peak. What to say about this blue turquoise lake reflecting the giant rock wall in a sunny summer morning? Could barely notice the mosquitos there (not really!). I feel a little bit more Canadian after this little journey.
