Located just a 5-minute walk from the Stawamus Chief Parking lot (not the parking lot at Shannon Falls), campers can set up their tents on one of 47 raised gravel tent pads. There are also a several vehicle accesible campsites nearby. Facilities include a camp shelter, running water, pit toilets, picnic areas, bear proof storage lockers, and a pay phone near the information booth.

Camping fees are in effect during the summer months and campsites are available on a first come, first serve basis with no reservations. The gate is locked during the winter, however camping is still permitted but no facilities are available.

The most popular activities to participate in at the Chief are climbing or hiking. A variety of climbing options exist depending on skill level. Hikers can take the trail to the top of all three peaks for great views of the Squamish and Howe Sound areas.
