The campsite at Joffre Lakes is located at the far end of Upper Joffre Lakes below the glacier and along the lake. There are 26 camping spaces which are available on a first come, first serve basis. There are pit toilets located at the parking lot and the campsite area.

All campers must purchase a Backcountry Camping Permit from BC Parks before they begin the hike to Joffre Lakes. If campers do not have a Backcountry Camping Permit, they may face eviction from the campsite and a fine.

Winter camping is not recommended due to the high risk of avalanches.

The trail to Upper Joffre Lakes can be quite steep in sections and campers should be in excellent physical condition and able to hike in all the required camping equipment and supplies.

Campers can further explore Joffre Lakes by climbing up towards the glacier.
