Should I file a trip plan before I go?
Yes. BC AdventureSmart and every regional search-and-rescue group strongly recommend filing a trip plan with a reliable person who is not going with you. The plan should cover who is in your group, your destination and route, expected start and return times, the vehicle you’re leaving at the trailhead, gear and experience, and when to call for help if you don’t check in.
