What should I do in a medical emergency on trail?

In British Columbia, call 911 and ask for Police, who will dispatch the appropriate Search and Rescue team. There is no charge for SAR services in BC — do not delay a call because you’re worried about cost. Give your location as precisely as possible (trail name, nearby landmarks, GPS coordinates), the nature of the injury, and the number of people in your party. Stay on the line if you can.
