Russet Lake Via Musical Bump Trail
Location: Whistler Village, took the gondola to Roundhouse Lodge and started the hike along High Note Trail to meet Musical Bump Trail.

I remembered we were so tired by this point, we've been hiking to pass the 2nd last peak on the trail in a hot day, and then I saw something bobbing in the grass field. I had to asked my friend if that's a bird to make sure I wasn't hallucinating lol! And my friend confirmed that the bird was a rock ptarmigan, and it's also a bird she had never took photos of before. The glacier valley of Garibaldi Park in the background was just magnificent, we were in awe! The ptarmigan just hiding between the grass and sticks, you can spot it if you take a closer look. I save this photo as my desktop display too, defo one of my favourite hike of 2026.
