After a challenging climb to the top of The Gargoyles near Elfin Lakes, we were met with a view that took our breath away. In the photo, I’m sitting quietly in a cream cap and blue athletic gear, taking it all in. Below, a perfectly round alpine lake glows in the sunlight, surrounded by lush green trees and patches of late-season snow. In the distance, a majestic snow-capped peak rises above it all. We didn’t know what would be waiting at the top—but when we looked over the ridge, the scene felt absolutely magical. It was a moment of pure awe and stillness in the heart of the wilderness.
