Exploring the base of the waterfall was on my bucket list for many years. During a cold wave of that winter, I decided to explore it. Finding the trail down wasn't easy as there was plenty of fresh snow and I was the first on site. Finally made it after a couple of wrong turns. At the bottom, the scenery was surreal: the waterfall was frozen but still could hear the water coming down behind a wall of ice. On the sides, ice stalactites. After a few hours of photography, some other hikers showed up. I took this picture to give an idea of the scale of the surroundings.
