The photo here was taken by me when I woke up one morning while camping at the Joffre Lakes Campground. I woke up at around 5:15 to the sound of a juvenile American Dipper begging for food a few meters away from our 4-person tent. I crept closer, and surprisingly the dipper (and its parent, there were two there) lets me get quite close. They were not shy and I got this photo, along with some other ones of one of the dippers. I cannot tell if the dipper in this photo is the juvenile or the parent, but it was still an amazing encounter.
