Water lilies floating on this small, marshy almost fully covered lake on a warm, sunny day. When I think about it, I think my height was the key factor that enabled me to see this. Otherwise there is a high wall of thrush and cat tails running around the edge of the lake that would prevent the average height person from seeing this in the detail I was able to...the only lower sight line I could see was on the other side of the lake, where it would have been too far to see the lilies. The photo was taken on the highest magnification on an iPhone 8 with no filter, modification, or cropping. I didn’t know these could grow around here in the wild!
