On this day, we were the only two souls for the 25 km drive and hike in to this ridge, which made me hesitant to share this photo. However, I am in the camp that the outdoors should be accessible to all and that those of us with privilege cannot become gatekeepers - of land (that's not ours), of exercise, of connecting with nature, of restoring our mind and our soul with a refreshing dip in an alpine lake. This sensitive environment is endangered, and the more people who love it, the more people will fight for it! For those who want to reach this wonderful place, you'll need a high clearance 4X4 or a lot of stamina for the extended version below the big washout. And don't forget to respect the alpine and walk through the mud (not around) - if you can't handle some mild swamp foot, this hike might not be for you.
