At 1200m elevation gain it can be a bit of a grind, but in early winter (when the avalanche risk is low, and before snowshoes are a must) the hike up the narrow valley to see the contrast between the snow and the beautifully turquoise color of Wedgemount lake should be a hike worthy of consideration.
