I shot this image on a recent hike. The weather was intermittent, clouds had just rolled in around the mid point of the hike, and added a real moodiness to the are I was in. I always carry a travel tripod when I hike. I was alone on the trail, so I had time to scope my surroundings for photos. I really liked this image because of the stump on the bottom left had side, but more importantly the curved branches on the left which direct to the eye into the center of the frame. 2 second exposure, f8, ISO 50
