This view taken from the Peak of Dam Mountain. I've always been aware of various trails that lay beyond the top of Grouse Mtn. Yet for all these months, I've never had to heart to explore them. Most of those trails first required going through the Grouse Grind or BCMC and I would always get worn out, too tired to explore. For those who are unfamiliar, Grouse Grind and BCMC define paths of arduous ascent to the top of Grouse that would break the will of lesser folk. They can be bypassed by taking the gondola up but being the cheap-ass mofo that I am, it was simply not going to happen. Today, everything changed. The thirst to wander was unusually strong and thus I was compelled to explore. After completing the Grouse Grind, I decided to hit Dam Mtn for the first time during this damp Saturday morning. It had rained the night before and caused the trail to become a slippery mudslide. Yet I endured, albeit a little scratched. Gazing out at the view unveiled before me by the parting fog, I knew that I made the right call. Next up, Goat Mtn!
