I encountered this huge Black Bear on my way back from a 30Km Bike / Hike. I was only 3.5km from the start of trail when I came upon a 200+ pound bear in the middle of the trail, I stopped to take a few photos & then i heard a growl and saw this mama bear on the hillside, then realized the smaller bear was only a cub. I backed off slightly and passed when it was safe, but only after i got this shot.
