Juan de Fuca Trail
Mt Brunswick

Mt Brunswick

Location: Howe Sound, accessible by Lions Bay
Photo Date: August 2017

Description:
One of the more challenging hikes in the area, this trail is often not too busy as many hikers choose to do the more popular Lions-Binkert trail. The trail to Brunswick splits off from the Lions-Binkert early on, and immediately begins a steady incline all the way to its 1788m peak.
The final ascent is a scramble up a ridge with loose rocks, be prepared with proper footwear and plan for a clear weather day for a safe climb to the top. At the top, you are rewarded with a panoramic view of Howe Sound, Mt Harvey, and the Lions.
If you are seeking a longer adventure, once you descend from the peak of Mt Brunswick instead of continuing back down the same trail you can either head west toward Deeks Lake, or east which connects through Magnesia Meadows to the Howe Sound Crest Trail, toward the Lions.
