Wedgemount Lake
Location: Whistler/Garibaldi
Photo Date: July 2016
Description:
Unlike the popular Garibaldi Lake trail well known for its tedious amount of switchbacks, the trail to Wedgemount Lake completely abandons the concept of switchbacks in favour of a nearly straight shot to the top. With an 1160m elevation gain in only 7km this trail earns its difficulty rating, but the views are absolutely worth it. During the summer it was extremely hot with no cloud or tree cover at the lake, so the only solution was taking a dip in the ice cold glacier water, which you won't regret. Take your time to enjoy the unreal view at the lake, because the descent will definitely leave your legs needing a couple days to recover.
