This section of the HSC runs between Mt Brunswick and the Lions, along the way traversing David Peak, James Peak, and Thomas Peak. The trail is extremely challenging with many near vertical inclines and declines, and the terrain is varied including dirt, root, boulders, and the occasional snow depending on time of year. Along the entire approach from Mt Brunswick you are treated to scenic views of the Lions and Howe Sound.
This photo was taken as part of a day-trip starting from Lions Bay, to Mt Brunswick, connecting to Lions via the HSCT, and finally back to Lions Bay via the Lions-Binkert Trail. Plan to begin very early to complete this amazing loop in one day, or you can choose to camp overnight in Magnesia Meadows.
