This was 3 days after my birthday. I wanted to be outdoors post birthday, so my partner and i decided we should cross the lake and stay at burton hut. When we got to the other side, the hut was buried in snow and it was dark. after searching for almost 2 hours and my partner falling into the ice at the lake\'s edge, we decided to turn back. It was a very scary experience and we learned a lot. This photo reminds me of that terrifyingly beautiful night... we will make a go for it this 2017, but with a shovel, rope, and more daylight hours.
