Black Tusk
Location: Whistler region
Photo Date: July 2014
Description:
Hiking can be sometimes perilous. The Black Tusk trail is fairly popular with young children and the elderly sometimes making it to the base of the tusk. There are many who also summit the Tusk by climbing a narrow chimney. When the weather becomes suddenly inclement, visibility can drop drastically and make the descent difficult. This photo of a search and rescue helicopter reminds us of the caution needed during hikes requiring greater technical skill.
