Coming down from Mt. McKirdy, I lost track of the trail and ended up on a steep hilltop. Confused at the dead end, the sun shone through the clouds and lightened up the landscape. With my friend Kerry standing on the tip of the ridge, it was the most magnificent view I had ever seen.
