I was three hours into the hike, extremely famished and most definitely parched. In fact, I was beginning to have second thoughts about taking this trail. But then we approached the highest point of the hike, and we stopped for a good ten minutes to take in the view and breathe the fresh air. Then I remembered why I wanted to be there.
