The rugged, muted tones of this photo perfectly capture our recent (and first!) hike up into Elfin Lakes. For two days cloud and fog completely obliterated the landscape, lending the scenery a chilly, unearthly, vaguely magical feeling. The photo was taken just as the clouds began to lift again.
