Garibaldi Lake (Via Rubble Creek/The Barrier)
Location: **EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS ROUTE**
From the Rubble Creek Parking lot, take the Garibaldi Lake trail, and keep right as the trail branches left. You'll pass through a small camp area and the creek should be immediately on your right.
Follow the creek, keeping to the left of it. the creek will disappear under the lava boulders, and follow this and keep generally to the left side of the shute.
Find a way UP to Barrier lake above. Simple.
Dangerous. **Disclaimer: we wanted to do something different, and assumed it wouldn't be so dangerous. We found ourselves challenged for an hour on a very steep slope that was the remainder of a mud/rock slide with nothing to hold onto, and nary a reliable foothold...and we were a mere 70 meters from the top.the plan was to use the string in my pocket to pull the packs up once I'd found a foothold again. To fall from this point would have dislodged tons of boulders and dirt and sent it all cascading 200 Meters to the rocks below.

Description:
Me on the second (failed) attempt to clamber up the dried-up mudslide, as any rock I touched moved beneath my hands and feet....
