Elk Thurston Trail

My boyfriend and dog, Scooby decided to check out the Elk Mountain Trail through the week on September 11, this year. We got directions from the vancouver trail website and that dogs were allowed. My dog is about 9 yrs old so we decided to hike to the top of Elk Mountain only and not to Thurston Mountain as well. This photo I got, was just lucky as I was able to capture some interesting light spilling through the trees. I have been on lots of hikes but have never seen lighting like this. It only lasted a couple of minutes so I had to take the photo quickly. You can see my dog in the background of this photo. He is having a great time on this trail, as you can see by his smile. The photo was taken around 11:00 in the morning with my Pentax camera with a 17-70mm lens. I hope you like it.
