{"id":3817,"date":"2024-02-15T20:57:29","date_gmt":"2024-02-16T04:57:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vancouvertrails.com\/blog\/?p=3817"},"modified":"2024-02-15T21:00:38","modified_gmt":"2024-02-16T05:00:38","slug":"pay-parking-at-west-vancouver-hiking-trails","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vancouvertrails.com\/blog\/pay-parking-at-west-vancouver-hiking-trails\/","title":{"rendered":"Pay Parking at West Vancouver Hiking Trails"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pay parking went into effect at three popular West Vancouver hiking trails, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vancouvertrails.com\/trails\/lighthouse-park\/\">Lighthouse Park<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vancouvertrails.com\/trails\/whytecliff-park\/\">Whytecliff Park<\/a>, and Nelson Canyon (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vancouvertrails.com\/trails\/whyte-lake\/\">Whyte Lake <\/a>Trailhead).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The District of West Vancouver voted in 2023 to charge visitors to these parks $3.75 per hour plus taxes and fees to park, which amounts to a total of <strong>$5.23 per hour<\/strong>. For example, if you plan to spend a few hours at Lighthouse Park which is a good amount of time for a hike and to enjoy the views, it will cost you $15.69.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To pay for parking, users will need to scan a QR code posted on a sign at the park or use the phone apps hangTag or PayByPhone. There are no machines that accept cash or credit cards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The parking fees went into effect on February 12, 2024 and there is a $98 fine through Impark for not paying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have concerns about this parking policy, you can <a href=\"https:\/\/westvancouver.ca\/contact\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">contact<\/a> the District of West Vancouver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What do you think about pay parking at trails?
