Hiked it on October 15, 2011. No Snow. A few muddy parts. Went from there to Unnecessary Mountain (outside of the few icy patches near the top of St. Mark's Summit with the mountain side facing North) overall the pathway was in phenomenal shape.

Hiked the trail today. Most of the snow is towards the top of the summit, or in some open areas not covered by trees. Very muddy towards the top though. It looks like the summit still has about 1 metre of snow left on the ground.

Tried going up this hike today (July 25th) and it is still snow covered from about a third of the way up!

Went up there today and there is still lots of snow. It seems okay for a while but once you get a few hundred meters past the first rest area with a map and junction (to the Bowen Lookout) it is pretty much all snow. I turned back because I was only wearing old running shoes.

I don't think snowshoeing would go well. There are a lot of very steep areas where you are basically walking from footstep to footstep across the snowy slope. It's more like good warm hiking boots that you would want to wear.

When you guys say proper shoes, do you mean snowshoes? Or are some good boots sufficient?

Went up today (Jul 10) and the trail is still snow covered. Proper footwear required.

Hiked St. Mark's today (July 3). TONS of snow, at least 6 feet deep in many areas. Some of the markers are hard to see or buried in snow. Many sinky areas around trees. The steeper part of the trail was a bit sketchy with the snow. We were close to the top, but my friend was unable to continue, so we turned back. I would not recommend inexperienced hikers attempt this hike. Also, we heard an avalanche somewhere in the area, but it did not appear to be near this trail. Use caution.

The distance is round trip and there's still lots of snow up there right from the parking lot. Should have good boots and gators. Skied up Strachan yesterday.

Is the distance stated for the round trip or one way?

Is there still enough snow to go snowshoeing? I'm planning to go on the weekend. Thanks
