Central Valley Greenway

Date: June 27, 2009

The Central Valley Greenway for cycling, jogging, rollerblading, and walking officially opened to the public today, June 27, 2009. This urban route starts from Science World in Vancouver and heads east following the Millenium Skytrain route through Burnaby and eventually ending at the New Westminster Quay.

Some of the scenic highlights include:

  • The view of False Creek from Science World
  • Burnaby Lake area where you can stop to see all the wildlife at Piper's Spit
  • The trail along the Brunnette River where Salmon can be seen returning to spawn in the Fall
  • The route along historic Columbia Street in New Westminster with views of the Fraser River
